FAQ

  • Who do you serve?

I work primarily with U.S. military members, spouses, and families stationed in Japan, including Iwakuni and surrounding areas. I also support veterans and those transitioning out of service who want to plan for life beyond the military.

  • What makes Yoshiwa Home Financial different?

As a retired U.S. Marine who has lived and worked in Japan, I understand both the challenges of military life (deployments, PCS moves, family adjustments) and the complexity of managing money across USD and JPY. My services are designed specifically for the unique needs of military families abroad.

  • Do you sell investments, insurance, or products?

No. I do not sell financial products or earn commissions. My planning is fee-based and independent, which means my only priority is helping you make smart decisions with your money.

  • How much does it cost?

I offer affordable packages and subscriptions designed with military budgets in mind. Pricing depends on whether you choose a one-time intake plan, a monthly subscription, or a life-event planning package (like PCS, marriage, or retirement). You’ll always know the cost upfront — no hidden fees.

  • What kinds of financial topics do you cover?

I cover a wide range of areas that matter most to military families. This includes creating realistic budgets for PCS moves and deployments, building savings and investment strategies while living overseas, and managing money across both U.S. dollars and Japanese yen. I also help with establishing emergency funds, tackling debt, and planning for major life events such as marriage, children, and retirement. Finally, I work with clients to prepare for life after the military, ensuring a smooth financial transition into civilian life.
